Bambi Crony Review!

An now for a review that is slightly different!

Bambi Crony is a Ball-Jointed-Doll shop based out of Souel, Korea. I have heard great things about their products and decided to check them out. I had been in search of Tea Party and Rocking Horse style shoes that would fit my soon to arrive Obitsu. Bambi Crony had both styles in stock.

Of course I didn't just stop at two pairs of shoes!

I purchased a total of four items from Bambi Crony.

Since I ordered a pair of Mako eyes the order was delayed since the eyes are made once ordered. Once Mako completes the eyes and sends the eyes to Bambi Crony the order is processed and shipped. Since Mako's eyes are extremely popular this process took longer than what I or Bambi Crony expected.

When my order did arrive I was happy to see that it was extremely well packed!

On top of my items lay three postcard freebies featuring Bambi Crony's Ball-Jointed-Dolls. Coupled to the positively sweet manner in which everything was packed the postcard only enhanced the cuteness factor.

I was excited to see that each item in my order had been carefully sent in it's own (adorable) packaging before being encompassed by the protective bubble wrap casing.

Let's start with the freebies!

Bambi Crony postcard freebies!

On top of my items lay three postcard freebies featuring Bambi Crony's Ball-Jointed-Dolls.

I was excited to see that each item in my order had been carefully sent in it's own ( adorable ) packaging before being encompassed by the protective bubble wrap casing.

And now for the long awaited Mako eyes!

Mako Eyes is a Ball-Jointed-Doll Eye company based out of South, Korea. Their Urethane and double UV protected eyes are extremely popular within the BJD community, and now I finally had a pair of my own!

For my first doll character I really wanted a pair of pretty brown eyes. I had seen rave reviews about Mako eyes and decided to give them a try. While it was difficult to finally settle on a style I ordered the Amarylliys in the colorway 006. I wanted to try the 16mm size for my doll first, as it was the suggested size for a "cute wide-eyed look".

Using the default Obitsu Mizuki head that came with my 50cm Obitsu body I placed the eyes into the head. This was surprisingly easy with the default head! The eyes were flawless. The color is especially charming because under certain light they have a brown and purple hue. The eyes are clear and captivating. I am so impressed with the quality and price that I will be purchasing all of my eyes from Mako eyes.

I can hardly wait to see how they look on my Misha Obitsu head!

These Bellezza sized Mary Jane shoes are exactly what I had been in search of! My doll is a Lolita ( just like me ! ) and thus I had to get her a pair of tea party style shoes to accompany her Sweet Lolita look. I purchased this pair in white.

The shoes were carefully packed in a plastic bag and a Bambi Crony branded structure. The shoes are constructed of PVC and resemble the style of shoe that I wear myself.

The silver heart buckles and the gold Bambi Crony emblem only add to the charm and realism of the shoes.The PVC bows are exceptionally sturdy, the shoes feature even stitching and the bottom of the shoes even have tread!

While the 6.5 cm inner size is slightly too big for my Obitsu's feet it was nothing that slight padding couldn't fix! The 1/3 scale of the shoes, for this pair, look completely natural despite the .5 cm difference.

At the time I wanted this hairstyle for a doll known as Lydia. I wanted a pretty reddish/brown that was curled but mostly straight to allow for easy maintenance.

Wig CW-007 in marron cream size 7~8 inches by Bambi Crony.

The wig was carefully placed in it's own wig netting, cardboard ring and a plastic bag. The wig was extremely well packaged and is packaged in a similar manner to human sized wigs!

The color of the wig is truly captivating and exactly what I had been in search of. Due to the way it was packaged the wig was 100% flawless.

The 7-8 inch size was a perfect fit for the Mizuki Obitsu head so I was confident that the wig would also fit my Misha Obitsu head.

The wig also featured a paper form in order to ensure the wig would maintain it's shape. The netting that serves as the base of the wig was extremely well constructed. No loose hairs escaped from this wig.

The spiraling curls are just too precious! The wig is extremely soft and complements the white skin of the Obitsu and the Mako eyes wonderfully. The wig cap is snug enough that a wig cap is not needed if so desired. I will most likely purchase another wig in the future in a different style.

And now for my absolute favorite item in this order, the Rocking Horse Shoes!

These shoes are beyond precious. The shoes are expertly constructed like the Ribbon Mary Jane shoes. This pair of shoes possesses the even stitching, tread and sturdiness just like the other pair of shoes. I love this because it means Bambi Crony has consistency in their items. These shoes also feature the heart buckles and gold Bambi Crony brand at the inner base of the shoes.

Rocking Horse Shoes in Pink by Bambi Crony.

The platform nature of these shoes is true to the Lolita style of Rocking Horse shoes. I am over the moon in love with these shoes! I cannot get enough of them.

Unfortunately these shoes do not fit my Obitsu. While they are technically the same length as the Ribbon Mary Jane, the low ride in the front does not allow for me to slightly stuff the ends. Also the 1/3 size is too big for my 50cm Obitsu body and looks poorly fitted.

The shipping is international, so I did not expect it to be quick. Due to the Mako Eyes being behind in orders it forced my order from Bambi Crony to be delayed.

All of the items were expertly packed and the branding was beyond adorable! Every item had it's own package and everything arrived safely and with expert presentation.

While I completely understand unforeseen circumstances with external companies some communication of this delay would have been extremely appreciated. Communication with this company overall was quick to respond with any email inquires.

I am beyond satisfied with my order from Bambi Crony and would highly recommend the products I purchased. I cannot wait to order some more!

Last Minute Halloween Costumes

October is here and we are only days away from the spooky-sugar coated-costume driven haunt of Halloween.

Still perplexed by what to wear?

Here are 50 quick ideas that can turn your "ordinary" Lolita wardrobe into a memorable costume for the night of fright!

Alice -- A true inspirational classic. Need I say more?
Alien -- With a space theme this costume is clearly out of this world! This look is especially charming with a silly headband.
Angel -- A pair of fluffy white wings along with an optional halo helps to add a heavenly touch to any outfit.
Bad Witch -- Any oversize pointy hat will do! Black is traditional and, while coupled with some spider tights or stripes and boots, your witch will be an utter spooky success!
Bat -- With a winged headband and a black exterior you are ready to take flight!
Bear -- A pair of round ears and a round tail are all you need turn yourself into a cuddly teddy bear! The tail looks especially adorable when affixed to a back bow.
Cat -- With a simple addition of a tail and ears any one can become either a mysterious black cat or a cuddly kitty!
Clown -- Whether happy, sad or just plain evil the first step in creating this costume is simply a big red nose.
Cook -- With all the numerous possible food related prints this costume is easier than pie. With the addition of an apron and a kitchen utensil you will soon be saying, "Let's eat!"

Kawaii Gifts Review!

I have been a long time customer of Kawaii Gifts for years. My girlfriend has a special soft spot in her heart for Rilakkuma so many of her birthday and Christmas gifts have come from this shop in PA. I have now fallen in love with Rilakkuma's special girl Korilakkuma and now often buy items that feature the adorable off-white and pink eared bear whenever possible!

For this order, as all the ones the ones before, I ordered on the ShowKawaii site.

I placed my order on July 1, 2015 and it arrived July 9, 2015.

The site is very easy to navigate and the account settings make it easy to check all your necessary information. The site uses the official licensed product pictures since the store is a licensed retailer! The only downside to this is that it can sometimes be difficult to see the details of the items because the image is a set size.

Check out is easy, and can be completed by entering your credit card or selecting PayPal. The price for shipping, at least domestically, is very reasonable. I usually spend $100 or more to qualify for the free 2-3 day shipping.

Adorable right? Unfortunately the San-X Piggy Girl Mechanical Pencil, and one of the items my lady had ordered, was Out of Stock. Due to this Kawaii Gifts refunded us for those items and sent the rest on their way!

I received my order in a well packaged long flat rate box. Upon inspection of the items I found that the Crux Melt Chocolate Mechanical Pencil [Pink] while adorable was defective. Also the San-X Rilakkuma Pen Stand [Little Bear] did not look like the image provided on the site at all! Even though all the products are 100% authentic this pen stand did not incorporate the correct color pallet for Korilakkuma. Rather than a off-white or ivory for Kori's fur the color was a terrible clay grey. It clashed with every other Korilakkuma piece I own. The "Korilakkuma" script in pink was barely visible on the pen case. It was such a disappointment that I set it aside along with the Crux Melt Chocolate Mechanical Pencil.

Thankfully I still have plenty of adorable goodies to look over!

SanX Rilakkuma Plastic File folders

These file folders are not only adorable with their flower motif, but the perfect size! I had at first wanted to decorate my new cubicle in a Pretty Solider Sailor Moon theme, but I had a difficult time finding file folders that would fit the standard 8" x 12" sheet of paper. Good thing I found these cute things!

I can't get over how cute this pencil case is! I love all the little details, such as the strawberries, candy, cookie biscuits, Eiffel towers and the cute cast of characters of course!

This memo pad is so cute and small! The cover to the memo pad ( left ) features Rilakkuma, Korilakkuma and their little duck friend! Inside ( center and right ) are two memo designs. I can't get over how cute the theme is for the "My Only" series!

And now for the cute little spiral notebook!

San-X Rilakkuma Pocket Notebook (White Rose)

I needed a convenient and secure place to keep my work passwords, and this small notebook with the floral details is perfect! The Rilakkuma logo is a golden holofoil. Inside, the notebook features a ribbon at the bottom as well as roses and the San-X characters. The overall feel is very elegant and cute.

Biscuit anyone?

Q-Lia Biscuit Coin Purse & ID Holder [Chocolate and Strawberry]

I cannot say enough good things about this cute coin purse and ID wallet! The fact that this wallet resembles a delicious chocolate and strawberry cookie only adds to its sweetness. The ID slot is perfect for a ID or, as I discovered, a keycard. The pocket is a great storage place for my meal card and my drawer keys! There is a slight imperfection on the "u", but it is easily overlooked.

My Only Rilakkuma Mechanical Pencil and Pen with Gold Mascots are adorable! The writing utensils are easy to use, and work well. The combination of pastels and small strawberries, Eiffel towers, ribbons and hearts is beyond sweet! The gold Rilakkuma at the top is just adds to its charm.

As for Piggy Girl, why haven't I known about this little cutie before now?! She is absolutely precious! This little lady is a Piggy Princess, adorned only in a crown and a pink ribbon, dashes happily about the notebook with her little mouse side-kick amongst the flowers, ribbons, and feminine accessories similar to perfume bottles. Just as the mini spiral Rilakkuma notebook, this notebook features a golden holofoil ( it looks yellow in the photo) which only adds to it's charm! While I am still disappointed that the matching Piggy Girl pencil from this series was out of stock I am glad that I purchased the notebook.

Overall I am very happy with my kawaii order. Everything was packaged well, arrived quickly once it was sent and all but two of the products beyond my expectations!

The issues I have experienced are extremely rare. I have ordered from Kawaii Gifts for years and have never had any problems. I would still highly recommend this site for any of your Kawaii needs.

Most of the products were very well made and beyond adorable! Aside from the San-X Rilakkuma Pen Stand [Little Bear] stock image that did not match the item sent, all of the products matched their description and price point on the site.

Communication

I was unimpressed with the communication I experienced during this order.
Firstly, the fact that the website was not updated and the item I purchased ( San-X Piggy Girl Mechanical Pencils [B] ) was actually Out of Stock. Secondly, the email in concerns to the return of the San-X Rilakkuma Pen Stand [Little Bear] that did not match the stock image on the site, and the defective Crux Melt Chocolate Mechanical Pencil [Pink] was not addressed after an entire week. I had to inquire about the return once more. Thirdly, once I was instructed to send the items back, I did not receive my second refund until 6 days after my items arrived - and I had to inquire about the refund via email. Twice.

The issues I have experienced are extremely rare. I have ordered from Kawaii Gifts for years and have never had any problems. I would still highly recommend this site for any of your Kawaii needs.

My-Lolita-Dress Haul!

It's here~! On January 24, 2015 I placed an order to My-Lolita-Dress for various lolita items.

I decided to try out My-Lolita-Dressed based on various positive reviews from lolita's in the online community, especially Kota-Bear. I have had negative experiences with ClobbaOnline and I wanted to try another shop that carried Taobao and Indie brands that carried to customization.

My ordered arrived from China to my doorstep via EMS on June 15, 2015. All of the items were packaged very well in a surprisingly small EMS package!

Let's begin with Precious Clove's Letters to My Dear Lolita JSK, shall we?

The Letter's to My Dear Lolita set was packaged together which was very nice! I didn't have to search for the headbow separately from the jumperskirt.

I fell in love with this print back when it was announced in December. Here are some stock images:

It is always a challenge for me as a sweet lolita to find prints that I adore that I can get custom sized. This dress incorporated many things I love, such as roses and bottles. I was very difficult for me to choose between the pink or the purple colorway! I chose pink because it is my signature color and because it matches my current wardrobe.

This dress really is super pretty! The print is delicate and bold enough against the pale pink material. The dress is very soft and lined ( thank goodness ) ! Also, since this dress was custom sized, I am happy to report it fits extremely well and is very flattering.

The detailing of the lace is very delicate and beautiful. There is soft rose detailing in the collar, and the peach pink bow is removable.

As you can see the print has many lovely details. I love all the different shaped glass bottles! The dress also features roses, pearls, bows, starts, letters and feather pens. The design is stunning! I love the print because, not only is it beautiful, but I can easily create multiple coordinates with this jumperskirt.

There is an error on the front and back of the print on one of the stain glass windows. The error also appears on the bodice of the dress. The error is extremely small, and resembles blue pen marks. I can only assume this occurred from a printing defect.

All in all I would recommend this dress, I absolutely love that print and that Precious Clove allows for custom sizing. The fact that the dress is of a nice quality and affordable is another plus. Aside from the print defect from the printing, the print is vibrant and extremely well done.

And now for the Letters to my Dear Lolita headbow!

The headbow was packaged with the matching jumperskirt which made it extremely easy to find. Additionally the headbow was wrapped individually in it's own plastic wrap.

This headbow is extremely beautiful, especially when it is worn. The lace is very soft and has the same detail lace of the JSK. The material is the same as the jumperskirt so it has the same silken feel. The headbow also has an adorable golden rose charm, which is just an additional charming touch.

It is a bit difficult to see, but the right side of the headbow is a tad shorter than the left. It is not easy to tell when worn.

This headbow scores an easy 7/10! I am very happy I added it to my order.

Now for some essentials

Classical Puppets A-line Petticoat

This is my first / official / petticoat. I purchased an A-line petticoat because the Precious Clove Letters to My Dear Lolita jumperskirt is an A-line. Now that I purchased the dress I do believe it would also do well with a bell-shaped petticoat.

The petticoat was from Classical Puppets and tailor made to my measurements. This petticoat is flawless. The material is extremely soft and fluffy. My precious petticoat was very scratchy. This Classical Puppets petticoat is a much welcomed change.

Additionally the material is extremely shiny. The petticoat is lined with a slip and the edges are hemmed professionally. The elastic at the waist is very comfortable and can go well beyond the stated measurements.

I am over-the-moon in love with this petticoat. I plan to order a bell-shaped petticoat from Classical Puppets in the future and more for each shape in multiple colors!

Blouse time!

There was a / slight / mix up with my blouse. Unfortunately the tailor service made a mistake when they constructed my order. In order to receive my order on time for an event Linda from my-lolita-dress offered to send a blouse that she had in stock that fit my measurements. This blouse was the Sweet Ruffles Silk and Linen Blouse and I actually think it is prettier than the original one I had ordered.

For some additional misfortune this blouse was the wrong measurements as well. This blouse was a good 30cm short of the require measurements. I was given a partial refund for the mix up. I can only hope that I can resell the blouse to someone who can enjoy it and re-order with my original measurements.

The blouse has corset lacing to assist in fitting. The normal measurements for this blouse are a Bust of 107cm and 107cm in the waist. With the corset lacing the waist can be taken in easily!

The button details on this blouse are so sweet! The button features a ribbon that matches the lace detailing.

It is a bit difficult to give a number to a piece I cannot wear, but based on the feel and tailor of the blouse I would give it a score of 7/10. I will purchase another in the correct size soon!
